  • Notes: Unique book by Anselm Kiefer comprising 47 black-and-white photographs of sunflowers and 13 sheets of cardstock pasted together back to back on canvas hinges. They form 29 continuous double-page openings with 2 single page covers at beginning and end. The photographs are modified with white paint and drawings of stars and constellations in black ink. The sheets of cardstock (bound at end of vol.) are thickly coated with textured black ink, sprinkled white.
    Title written in ink on p. [1]. It is taken from Ingeborg Bachmann's poem "An die Sonne."
    Dedication written in ink on p. [2]-[3]: A Jean-Louis [Froment] d'Anselm.
