  • Summary: Photographs taken by Johannes Felbermeyer for the allied Central Collecting Point (CCP) in Munich. These images document the process of repatriation of works of art after World War II, depicting both the people involved and approximately 500 European paintings and sculptures of known and unknown provenance. Persons appearing in the photographs include art historical and military figures: Edgar Breitenbach, General Lucius D. Clay, Erica Hofstaengl (record keeper), Charles Parkhurst, Captain Andrew Ritchie, Konrad Roethel, Rodolfo Siviero, and Craig Hugh Smyth. The works of art documented in the photographs are from Austria (including the St. Florian Altarpiece in Linz), Belgium, Czechoslovakia (including the Hohenfurth Altarpiece), France, Germany (including works from the Alte Pinakothek in Munich), Holland, Hungary (including works from the Hungarian Museum of Fine Art in Budapest), and Italy (including works from the Museo Civico in Vipiteno).
