  • Summary: Microfilm copy of the front face of over 50,000 property cards created for the Central Collecting Point, Munich, to document the restitution of works of art stolen during the Second World War. (Objects assembled at other collecting points are not included in this file.) Each card records data for an individual art object, such as medium, subject, size, condition, identifying marks, description, and presumed owner; some cards illustrated with a small photograph. Rolls no. 7 and 8 contain records for works of art looted by Goering and stored at Berchtesgaden; roll no. 8 also contains records for looted works of art stored at Alt Aussee, destined for Hitler's Linz Museum. The majority of works listed on these two rolls belonged to Jewish-owned collections, with the Rothschild and Wildenstein names appearing frequently. Roll no. 28 contains records of the returns and releases to German and Jewish owners.
