  • Biographical/Historical Note: From 1965 until 1979, the Nicholas Wilder Gallery in Los Angeles exhibited contemporary works by renowned New York and European artists and fostered many up-and-coming Los Angeles artists, with early exhibitions by Dan Flavin, Ronald Davis, Joe Goode, Robert Graham, and David Hockney. In 1970 the gallery moved from La Cienega Boulevard to Santa Monica Boulevard; it closed in 1979. Nicholas Wilder died in New York City on May 12, 1989.
