    Some of the engraved plates and in-text ill. are signed by Valadés. The mnemonic alphabet on 2 leaves following N2 is copied from Lodovico Dolce's Dialogo on memory, as is the diagram of regions of the brain on L4v; see Mortimer. The folded table following PP4v lists sententiae.
    Engraved t.p. incorporating female allegories of Theology and Rhetoric, with the device of the Franciscans at head and the arms of Gregory XIII, to whom the work is dedicated, at foot. Pietro Giacomo Petrucci's device at colophon (Zappella, fig. 960). Historiated initials, tailpieces. Text pages have ruled borders.
