  • Summary: The collection documents the temple complex of Angkor Wat and the walled city of Angkor Thom and its central temple, the Bayon. The photographs were likely taken by two or more groups of tourists visiting the area, as evidenced by several images in which different groups of people lounge on the monuments. Included are distant views of the complexes, close-range views of the facades and monuments, and views of towers, stairways, courtyards, passages and doorways. There is a particular concentration on the decorative and narrative relief sculpture of the complexes, especially that which surrounds the doorways.
