  • Biographical/Historical Note: Juan Esteban Fassio (Buenos Aires 1924 - Barcelona 1980), entered the Collège of Pataphysique in 1952, and in 1957 founded in his home town the Instituto de Altos Estudios Patafísicos de Buenos Aires (IAEPBA). He worked at Centro Editor de América Latina and translated for the first time into Spanish some works by Alfred Jarry, and invented peculiar machines for reading specific novels. Following the advent of the military dictatorship in Argentina in 1976, Fassio left his country in 1978, and died in exile.
